The Informed Minds App has been designed as a psychological well being tool to improve your own self-awareness, self-reflection techniques and self-management. The Informed Minds App and the Informed Minds Team do not provide medical or clinical advice.

The Informed Minds App is not intended to be a substitute for professional and expert advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are feeling worried, if you are not feeling ok or if anything within the materials makes you feel uneasy, then please contact your GP or go to the section on ‘I’m not ok’ for links to other support services.

Always seek the advice of your GP or other qualified health providers with any questions you might have regarding a medical condition and if you think you have a medical emergency or are in need of immediate psychological support and services (including suicidal ideation and self-harm) then call your GP or dial 999 immediately.

Not all activities described on the Informed Minds App Services or Products are suitable for everyone.

Do not use the Services if you require immediate psychological assistance or while driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing other tasks that require attention and concentration. You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for your use of the Services.

 

What is the Informed Minds App? 

Sometimes we all need a helping hand. The Informed Minds App is a psychological well-being App set up to help students, young people and young adults feel supported and know where to get help. The Informed Minds App aims to support and help you with your Mental Health Wellbeing by providing a range of Lived and Learned short vlogs and blogs from young people & professionals on an A-Z list of Mental Health Wellbeing topics, tools and resources aimed at improving your wellbeing knowledge and a variety of practical tips that can help you maintain your personal wellbeing.

 

Terms & Conditions of the Informed Minds App

Changes to Terms or Services

We may modify the Terms at any time, in our sole discretion. If we do so, we’ll let you know by posting modified Terms on the App or through other communications. It’s important that you review the Terms whenever we modify them because if you continue to use the Services after we have posted modified Terms on the App, you are indicating to us that you agree to be bound by the modified Terms. If you don’t agree to be bound by the modified Terms, then you may not use the Services anymore. Because our Services are evolving over time we may change or discontinue all or any part of the Services, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

 

Who May Use the Informed Minds App Services

Eligibility

You may use the App Services only if you are 16 years or older and are not barred from using the Services under applicable law. Under 18 year old users should have parental or guardian consent to use our Services due to the sensitive nature of some of the psychological wellbeing content. To make a purchase via the Services (described in the Section titled ‘Purchases’ below), you must be 18 years or older and capable of forming a binding contract.

 

Registration & Your Information in the Informed Minds App

If you want to use certain features of the Services you’ll have to create an account (‘Account’). You can do this via the App. It is important that you provide us with accurate, complete and up-to-date information for your Account and you agree to update such information, as needed, to keep it accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you don’t, we might need to suspend or terminate your Account. You agree that you won’t disclose your Account details or password to anyone and you’ll notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your Account. You’re responsible for all activities that occur under your Account, whether or not you know about them.

 

Using the Informed Minds App Services

Via the Services, users can select from a variety of options to create awareness, relaxation and self-improvement.

You understand and agree that the Services, Products and any other information you learn from Informed Minds are not intended, designed, or implied to diagnose, prevent, or treat any condition, illness or disease, to ascertain the state of your health, or to be a substitute for professional medical care.

 

Informed Minds App Feedback

We welcome feedback, comments and suggestions for improvements to the Services or Products (‘Feedback’), including suggestions about additional topics and information to add to the App. You can submit Feedback by emailing us at informedmindsapp@gmail.com. You grant to us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license under any and all intellectual property rights that you own or control to use copy, modify, create derivative works based upon and otherwise exploit the Feedback for any purpose.

 

Informed Minds App Content and Content Rights

For the purposes of these Terms, (i) ‘Content’ means text, graphics, music, software, audio, video, works of authorship of any kind, and information or other materials that are posted, generated, provided or otherwise made available through the Services and (ii) ‘User Content’ means any Content that users (including you) provide to be made available through the Services. Content includes without limitation User Content.

The Content provided on the Informed Minds App has been created and supplied by third party contributors, both lived and learned experience and professional experience, and therefore it represents individual, personal opinions and advice based on personal experience only.

 

Content Ownership

Informed Minds does not claim any ownership rights in any User Content and nothing in these Terms will be deemed to restrict any rights that you may have to use and exploit your User Content. Subject to the foregoing, Informed Minds and its licensors exclusively own all right, title and interest in and to the Services and Content, including all associated intellectual property rights. You acknowledge that the Services and Content are protected by copyright, trademark and all other laws of Northern Ireland and foreign countries. You agree not to remove, alter or obscure any copyright, trademark, service mark or other proprietary rights notices incorporated in or accompanying the Services or Content.

At Informed Minds, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by The Informed Minds App and how we use it. The Informed Minds App Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to our online activities and is valid for users of our App and website with regards to the information that is shared and/or collected in the Informed Minds App, on the Informed Minds website and via email communications. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than those specified.

 

By using our App, you hereby consent to our Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide. Personal Data:

Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you or another living individual. So for example, if you use our App services or visit our website, request our products, or become involved in our campaigns or by sharing your story, we will collect and process the personal data that you’ve provided. All vlogs that are shared with us are hosted privately on the Vimeo website.

 

We may also collect personal data from you when you report a problem with our App or website, if you complete a survey which we use for research or evaluation purposes, or if you give us feedback or contact us (see below for more information).

 

We may collect the following personal data:

  • Basic personal details (your name, email address, location, telephone or mobile number and age)
  • IP address
  • Photos, videos or audio recordings used as part of our work with you

 

*Financial details (including credit card and debit information) will be collected and stored by the Apple and Google Play Store and any third party companies that used by each store for processing payments – such as Paypal or Stripe. The Informed Minds Team do not have access to this information.

 

Condition of Processing

We may also collect, store and use the following ‘special categories’ of more sensitive personal data which require a higher level of protection, called a ‘condition of processing’. We will not process any of the following special categories of data without a condition of processing:

 

Information about your race or ethnicity, philosophical or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and political opinions:

  • Trade Union membership
  • Information about your health, including any medical condition, health and sickness records
  • Information about criminal convictions.

 

Technical Data collected within the Informed Minds App

We also collect more technical data which may identify your device or IP address, relating to details of your visits to our App, for example location data, how you found us and the resources accessed on our App. We use this to improve your user experience and to provide you with the information, services or products that you’re interested in and are most relevant to you.

 

How we will use your personal data:

There are a number of ways that we may use your personal data in accordance with the lawful basis described in ‘Our lawful basis for processing your personal data’ below. The following are the ways we use your personal data for our core activities:

 

1) To provide you with information (such as relevant content or campaigning activities), services or products you’ve requested or which we feel may interest you. When you interact with our App or website, we will collect anonymous user engagement and event logging data about that interaction to allow us to improve our service to you and make future improvements to the App. When you interact with an email sent from the Informed Minds Team, such as opening an email or clicking on a particular we link, we will receive information about that interaction.

 

We use this information to ensure that we understand how our products, services and campaigns are being received, as well as to ensure that we continue to act in accordance with how you’ve chosen to hear from us. We may also permit selected third parties to provide you with information on our behalf. But all this will only happen when you’ve consented to this.

 

2) To enable us to support you in our work with you. Sometimes we may use mobile phones, cameras or laptops for filming, voice recording or slideshows as part of our work with you. These may be used to improve our relationship or help you understand our work better, and may also be used to help our team learn how to support you better.

 

3) To use your IP addresses to identify relevant information. This may include information such as your approximate location. It also helps us to block disruptive use or establish information like the number of visits to the App from different countries.

 

4) To record and respond to any compliments, comments or complaints from supporters or service users and to appropriately investigate and implement necessary changes. All feedback helps us to learn and to improve what we do.

 

5) To conduct prospect research.

 

6) To promote our activities. Where you have given us your consent we may use photos of you, all or part of your Vlogs, Blogs or testimonials, for promotional activities and communications.

 

Our Lawful basis for using your Data:

Data Protection law requires us to have a reason or justification, also known as a ‘lawful basis’, for using any of your personal data.

This is where we’ve asked for your permission to use your personal data in a specific way, and you’ve agreed. For example to use your Vlogs and Blogs in the App, send you marketing via email or SMS, send you push notifications.

Our legitimate interest is in engaging with the public to further our psychological well being aims and providing a range of relational and informative resources along with signposting to relevant support services. Some examples of activities where we rely on legitimate interests are:

o             Sending you direct marketing via post or email;

o             Conducting research to better understand our users and supporters and to improve the services we offer to young people, young adults and App users;
